A Weight Loss Prayer
A weight loss prayer, asking God to help you with your weight is a great step to take! This shows that you seek God for the answer. I hope I can help show you how God really works, and I hope you can apply this to your current situation. I also want you to know that I am currently not overweight, and I do not have the answers, but I do know that God does and he should be the one you bring your problems to when you need advice, although there is nothing wrong with seeking advice from other christian men/women as well.

Understanding How God Works
 A God of Process: I know your thinking. "It would be great if God could just 'zap' me and make me thin again. I can assure you that if he wanted to, he could do it without lifting a muscle. But I also want you to understand that the God of the bible is a God of process. If you are familiar with the exodus, when Moses brought plagues to Egypt in order to lead the Jews to the promised land, God used his power to "process" the event. He could have made the Egyptians fall asleep for 48 hours, but he worked through a process that brought him glory.A Medical Condition: Asking God to help you become thin again, is completely acceptable for a christian, but you have to realize your dealing with a medical condition. See, if I had cancer, yes I would be praying like crazy, but I would also be seeing a doctor regularly.  If I was battling with weight loss, yes I would be praying and asking God to make the resources available to me and the strength given to me, but I would also be working out daily with the strength God has given to me. You see, God is not a fairy that goes around tapping people with his wand, but he is the only one that makes weight loss possible, even the unsaved individuals who ignore Him all the days of their lives.

What Should I Say?
Dear God,I've decided to make a change in my life. I'm currently struggling with my weight. I want to lose weight, and I know that you are the one who gives the strength to do so. God, basically what I'm asking you is this: Will you please make all the resources available to me to lose weight, and, if it will bring you glory to any degree, keep me motivated? In Jesus' name, Amen. If you've said this weight loss prayer, and this is what you really want, then please keep praying! No, you don't have to use my words; I encourage you to use your own from this point, but keep praying!
