A Soldier Prayer
This soldier prayer is a prayer, not only for our country's troops in Iraq, but also for the protection of Israel. Israel is God's chosen people, the very descendants of Abraham, whom God made a covenant with. God has prophesied the events that are to come, so that anyone paying close attention can recognize how close we are to the very end.

God's Sovernty
 We have a very sovereign God. God's sovereignty goes something like this, what he says is going to happen actually will happen. Maybe you have never looked into what the bible says will happen in the last days, but I can assure you that within the next few decades, or possibly years, the middle east is going to erupt like a volcano. Many nations surrounding Israel will move in to wipe the nation "off the face of the map" (which is what Iran's president plans on doing) in an event known as "The Day of the Lord". Israel will shockingly overcome all of them with the help of God. God tells us to pray for the protection of Israel, so this will be included in the soldier prayer below. The United States may play some kind of role in this event, although I highly doubt it, but pray for the future protection of our soldiers too! An example of sovereignty: Just because God says an event will happen doesn't mean you are a puppet on a string he uses to make sure he can fulfill his promise. It's like this: Imagine playing the best chess player in the world. You have very little experience playing the game. You have the free will to make whatever moves you want, but your going to get beat. So free will is still a factor in sovereignty. Your on a cruise ship headed for Spain. You have the free will to do whatever you want on the ship, but your gonna end up in Spain (don't take the analogy too far)!

What Should I Say?
Dear God, I'm coming before you in prayer because I want to pray for our soldiers overseas. Because of great guys like them, we can enjoy many freedoms in our country. Please watch over them, protecting them and helping them to make wise decisions. Please help them to return safely when their job is finished, and bless them for the great work they've done so far for the country. I know one day, possibly soon, that many nations will plot the destruction of Israel, your chosen people. I pray for their protection in the horrific event. Let your name be glorified through them.
