Asking God for money

Most of us say a prayer for finances at some point in our lives. We reach a point where we feel that we cannot do it all on our own. Maybe you were struck with an unexpected bill, suffered a loss, lost your job, or just simply don't make enough. My understanding of the bible only goes so far, but I will try my best to interpret biblical ideas to help you understand what God says about finances. You may be surprised, but this topic may test your faith more than you might be prepared for.

Understanding Your Situation

I don't know exactly how you ended up looking for a prayer for finances, but I can understand how it can be a very stressful topic in your life. In this day and age (with increased gas prices, war, inflation, negative youth influence, and more), it's easy to slip into the mindset that you have to start worrying about your life (covered below).

When you pray to God, come to him with a sincere heart. He doesn't owe you anything, and anything you receive from him is 100% an act of grace towards you. And while you pray to him, keep in mind that he already knows what you need before you ask him. I firmly believe God has a plan for you and I hope you do too!

What the Bible Says About Money

There are stories in the bible of people that set their hearts on money. I will be honest, MONEY DOES PROVIDE SECURITY, but these people put their trust in money before their trust in God. You may be saying, "Come on, I'm here because I don't have any money, not because I love it." My question to you is "Do you trust God?" This may be your last opportunity to see this, so I want you to read it. Matthew 6:19-34 covers every question you have about your financial future.In a nutshell: God tells us that he will provide for us in every area of our life (spiritually, physically, and mentally). Now you have to ask yourself if you trust him. If you do, you will trust his timing. God has a master plan, and is thinking over a million steps ahead. I no longer suggest things to him, I just tell him I trust him 100%, no exceptions.

A PRAYER FOR FINANCES
What do I Say?

Now that you understand that your finances mean so little in your spiritual development, you can approach God from a completely different angle. You can move from a "God, I need this in my life" mindset to a "God, I trust you" mindset. It's not wrong to approach God with your problems, because you should. Just ask him to bless a certain area of your life and be patient! If I said a prayer for finances, I would use the following words:

God,
I put my faith in you, because you are the only one that can save me from who I am, The only one who can complete me. There are certain areas in my life right now that need your blessings, and if I tried to fix them myself, I would fall short every time. You are everything to me, and I trust your knowledge and timing. Right now I find myself in a financial struggle, and you are the only one that can help me triumph over this. I understand that you made a promise to me that you would provide, and I need your blessings now more than ever. I will seek your kingdom first before my own needs, and trust you that you will pull me out of this financial struggle. In Jesus' name, amen.
