If you looked at Jesus hands while he was still on living on earth, what would you see? Obviously you would see 10 fingers and 2 palms, but how would you describe them?
Rough or soft?
Strong or gentle?
Big or small?
The beautiful thing about the Bible is that not all the details are given to us, which leaves room for our imagination. Let's take a closer look at some of the details in Jesus life, and we can draw our own conclusions, while discovering some pretty cool facts that you may not already know!
Jesus Hands Human Hands
God is sometimes viewed by both christians and non-christians alike as a far-away-Being that stays "hands off" of his creation.
We look at the world now, and it's easy to understand how somebody can reach that conclusion.
But something Christians are very familiar with is the story of God coming to earth in the form of man. This man was Jesus Christ, and he was human in every way.
When Jesus was a young boy he took up the trade of carpentry. Jesus was a carpenter, which is somebody who builds, usually out of wood. This field of work relies heavily on labor.
Look at the hands of a carpenter and you will have a better idea of how rough Jesus hands were.
Jesus was the Son of God, but that didn't mean that he lived in a bubble. He was exposed to pain, especially during his death when nails were driven through his flesh hands.
Upon his ressurection his hands told His story of facing, yet OVERcoming death.
Jesus Hands Caring Hands
Your hands say alot about you and what field of work you are involved in. If you didn't know that Jesus was a carpenter, you might assume that he had soft, gentle hands.
Judging by his line of work, that probably wasn't the case, but what he did with his hands tells a different story. Think back to when you first learned about Jesus healing the 2 blind men (Matthew 20:34).
The 2 men were in need of healing and the caring hands of Jesus gave them their sight back.
How do you think the blind men felt about Jesus after He healed them?
I'm sure they showed an inexpressible amount of gratefulness towards him.
-When God gives you something, do you react the same way the blind men reacted?
-How do you feel when he takes something away from you?
-Are you only grateful when he gives to you?
Please take a look around you and think about all that he gave you to begin with. Don't wait until you receive something from him to show gratefulness.
He doesn't owe any of us anything, and we don't deserve nor are we worthy for the things we already have! Jesus showed us how much he cared when he allowed the nails to be driven through his hands and feet to die for us.
If you cannot find anything in your own life to be grateful for, then be grateful that Jesus died so that we can choose to spend an eternity with God!
Jesus Hands Creative Hands
Jesus is part of the trinity that makes up God (the father, son, and holy spirit). So Jesus is God! And we know that God created life, the earth, and the galaxies that stretch further than our greatest telescopes could imagine reaching.
So does God have creative hands?
Lets take a look at the stars he "threw" across the galaxies. When I look at them, I see design, beauty, and creativity.
What about the mountains he "carved" or the oceans he "dug out"?
All you have to do is walk away from your computer and look out the window to see the beauty his hands give to us.
And don't think his creating stopped with the earth!
Look at a painter for example... A painter creates art because he is creative. Do you know why he is creative? Because God is creative and we are made in his image. Does a painter stop after his first piece is complete? NO! He is passionate about his creative side and continues to create!
We are told that after the end of the world, the earth will be made new again! I understand that to a non-believer, this may sound like a fairy tale, but through bible prophecy, God has proven 100% that He exists.
There is absolutely no reason to believe this will not happen too! Jesus hands will once again be creating as we journey through eternity with him!
The best part?
As I told you before, the Bible concerning our future, leaves room for our imagination. Only eternity will tell. If your not sure if you will spend eternity with him or not, please contact me. I am willing (and excited) to walk with you.
