An Infertility Prayer
Your infertility prayer is heard by God, so you might wonder why he isn't doing anything about it. I don't entirely understand how God works sometimes, even in my own life. Sometimes I really wonder why God doesn't just make things better, but then I realize that I don't see the "big picture" that he does. So before you sit down on your couch and say to yourself "man, if I was God...", let's try to understand God and some possible reasons and solutions before saying a prayer for infertility. Below is the story of Sarah, followed by an example in my own life.
An Infertility Prayer The Story Of Sarah
Sarah, a character in the Old Testament, struggled with infertility. She was the wife of Abraham, whom God chose to make a covenant with. He is the father of the Jewish nation, the people whom would eventually give birth to Jesus Christ. You see, Sarah was well into her years and was far too old to give birth. Then God showed up and told her she was going to give birth. When Sarah heard this, she laughed at God in total unbelief. She knew she was too old. And God said something like "Oh, you are". Now what could have God said? After being laughed at, he could've said "fine, now your not" and disappeared. But he stayed true to his word and she gave birth to a nation."But God hasn't told me I'm going to give birth!" True, but you now know he has the power to make even an elderly woman have children (which, if it happened today, would end up in weekly world news=). If he has the power, but you still have no children, there's a reason for it! We'll explore a little more, but just keep saying an infertility prayer everyday! Make your needs known to him! My Deaf Brother My brother Matthew is deaf, which is a condition he was born with that destroys his ability to hear. I used to wonder why God would allow one of his creation to suffer from something that everyone else has. It really bothered me growing up! Then when I got saved at 19, my pastor and I started hanging out. I really wanted to introduce him to my brother, so I convinced my brother to go to church. My pastor gave Matthew his first bible and on the inside cover, he wrote something like "Sometimes God will take something away from us so that we can see the world in a way that others can't."
An Infertility Prayer What Should I Say?
Dear God Right now, I'm currently struggling with infertility. (explain how you feel about it honestly). I've read that you have even the power to put a child in an elderly woman, even after she laughed at you. God I'm coming before you in a humble manner. You do not owe me anything, but I really want to bear a child. Please, if it's according to your will, allow me to bear children.
In Jesus' name, Amen So you've said an infertility prayer, and you understand that God has the big picture all figured out. If this is something that you really want, you need to keep praying for it until you can't pray anymore. I think God like's persistence: I pray to God daily, but only one time did I ever pray persistently for something (like 5 times/day) and He answered with the greatest blessing I ever received.
