Bedtime Prayers

Spending the night in God's House

I believe bedtime prayers can bring you closer to God than most people believe.

There is nothing more rewarding than closing the door on the world and meeting Jesus in prayer.

You can talk to God about anything and he will always listen to you! If your not sure how to talk to God, please read my page on how to pray.

Who am I praying to?

When I first reached out to God, I had no idea "who" I was praying to. I knew there was a higher power called God, but I had no idea what his personality was like.

As I continued to pursue him, he revealed himself to me through the life of Jesus Christ.

Now I have a picture of who I pray to when I say my bedtime prayers every night.

I strongly encourage you to reach out to God and try to understand who you are praying to. Say..

"God, who are you?"

Enter into a trust relationship with Jesus Christ and you will find yourself praying to your best friend, and you will usually know what to say.

Just remember that God is the best listener you will ever meet and you can share anything with him with an honest heart!

What do I say?

I usually say bedtime prayers to God to relieve my stress. I have a lot of stressful days. None of it seems to matter when I lay in bed and tell God how I feel about it.

I can't really tell you what exact words to say, and I can't even give you an outline. Should I kneel? Talk to God about whatever is on your mind, but here's an idea of the range of topics you can cover.

Ask God to forgive you for your sins

Tell God how you HONESTLY feel about things going on
in your life.

(This will definitely help you identify who you are and what areas of your life you can improve! Try it)

Pray for others.
(Including their heath, well-being, finances, spiritual growth, maturity, etc...)

THANK GOD! He gave you life.
Can you remember what you were doing April 11th, 1843? Think hard. You can't, you weren't alive then. Now imagine never coming into existence. Are you thankful?

Ask God to teach you things that you don't know.
(There's always more to learn about walking out the Christian lifestyle)

Say the Our Father's Prayer.

Just remember to come to God with a sincere heart, and remember who you are praying to. I strongly recommend reading Matthew 6:5-14. It really inspires me every time I read it. I hope your bedtime prayers will become something you really look forward to every night!
